Parents support Pittsburgh School Board resolution opposing ‘harmful’ state bills

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, November 2022

Members of the Pittsburgh public school community expressed their support for a resolution under consideration by members of the Pittsburgh school board decrying the harm that proposed PA House and Senate bills pose to students of color and students of the LGBTQ+ community. These bills, which similarly concern members of PEDC’s Southwest Region, would curtail the teaching of the true histories of marginalized communities in the US, particularly that of the Black community and would create invisible the lived experiences of students who identify with the LGBTQ+ community.
